Historic Guest

Ann Walsh (nee Jones) - Great Grand-daughter of the Rev Parry who built this house in approx 1880 - stayed at Plas-y-Nant on 15th April 2006. Her entry in our Guest Book reads "Wonderful weekend - brought 13 of my family to stay and had a great welcome. Sure old man Parry would have approved of the use that has been made of the house, thanks to the two Tonies"

Her daughter - Sian Walsh - wrote "Descendent of the Parry family who 'donated' Plas-y-Nant to the Christian Fellowship – nice and all as that was, they were clearly mad – so I reckon that we could contest all that and maybe get it back – watch out Tonies x 2 …. We’ll be back !!! Thanks a mil for the meal in the chapel and all the friendly service and hospitality. Food was great. Loved the heat and chat."

Can’t think of a better way to be 40 – friends, family and Tony’s expert laid back / super organised hospitality. Thanks very much.

Class weekend !! Martin and his leg-end quizzes !! So much to tell, so little remembered thanks to Tony’s concoctions of Sambukha and Baileys plus my copious amounts of Magners drunk. Loads of funny people for a great atmosphere, made also by good music as well (had to be mentioned). Slept like a baby through each night thanks to overactiveness and comfy rooms. Last to mention the staff; brilliant laugh and always smiling. All the best.

What can I say. (quite a lot knowing me!). I’ve had a brilliant time staying here, definitely one of the best places I’ve been. Big Tony – thanks for teaching me the mandolin, I’ll buy my own and put you to shame next time I come to stay (which I definitely will!!) Tony 2 – Thanks for putting up with me! You’re great people, keep smiling, and I hope the future brings all you hope for. We’ll link you to our web site (so there’s no getting away!!) Thanks for everything - Love Nat. Thanks so much for an awesome experience that I will never forget. The staff here are more like chilled compadres rather than employees. Fantastic food, awesome accommodation, a hell of a good crowd to be involved with. Many many thanks, I haven’t been this happy for a very very long time – much love to everyone – keep smiling and being the lovely people you all are.

Far too sleepy to write after all the fresh air, fun and the fantastic vegetarian food.

Nov 2006, AB Stockport

My wife Janet died suddenly and unexpectedly on 23 December 2004. After more than a year of denial, avoidance, procrastination and uncertainty, I heard very indirectly through the Plas grapevine that the place was again a good place. Tony P kindly agreed that we could scatter Janets ashes here – and that is what we have now done. Definitely a good decision, and we’re all delighted to have discovered the wonderful welcome and atmosphere of the Plas people and place. An unexpected bonus to find Janets image on the Easter 1952 group photo – seated next to Aunty Lean – several years before I met her !!

October 2006, PG Milton Keynes

Our 4th stay. As always its been pleasant. Its where we can talk, “switch off”, get drunk without feeling guilty and eat without feeling guilty !! Excellent hosts, very laid back and we needed that. Compliments to the chef. We will be back xxxx.
