The Llanberis Track up
Snowdon
The Llanberis starts from the village of Llanberis, and is one
of the most gentle walks up Snowdon. You can also click here to read about
other walks up Snowdon ..... here to see how to get to the Snowdon range ........ here to see a map of the Snowdon area ........ or here to see details of the peaks in the Snowdon range

The Snowdon Mountain Railway runs
from Llanberis to the summit of Snowdon. |

The Pyg track ascends the zig-zags
towards the summit of Snowdon |

The Snowdon Mountain Railway uses Victorian
age carriages pushed by a steam engine running on a rack railway.

The
Llanberis Track
Directions:- This is a wide track that virtually
follows the Snowdon Mountain railway. Start from Victoria Hotel
in Llanberis, follow Ceunant Mawr road up through the woods. Emerging,
bear right and left at successive forks following the path above
Hebron Station. Cross the railway near Halfway Station (refreshment
hut with fine views). The path skirts Garnedd Ugain and is joined
by the Snowdon Ranger path (from the right) and by Pig track ( from
the left) at Bwlch Glas before reaching the summit. Over the last
half mile the waters of Glaslyn and Lyn Lldaw are seen.
Plas-y-Nant comment:- Not a difficult walk –
the railway is a bit of a novelty – or a distraction !! |
